Event for the military: music, prayer and a word of hope (May 2024)
September 6, 2024

Our chaplaincy unit, together with the local church “The Gospel of the Grace of God”, held a special event for the military who are recovering from heavy combat operations. This day became a real celebration of faith, hope and love for all of us, where each participant could feel support and care.

We arrived with everything we needed - equipment, musical instruments, and, most importantly, with hearts full of desire to support our defenders. Each of us realized how important it was to bring a piece of light and warmth to those who sacrifice their lives for our freedom every day.

The event started with music. Our team performed songs that sounded too familiar, but at the same time sounded somehow new - sincere, deep, full of hope. The military, sitting in the hall, listened, and some even sang along, feeling how the music relieved fatigue and tension, returning a sense of calm for a moment.

After the musical performance, we moved on to prayer. We prayed for each of them, for their families, for their strength and resilience. Our prayers were simple but came from the heart. We asked God to strengthen them, to give them courage and to restore their strength. For many of them, it was an important reminder that they are not alone in their struggle, that there is someone praying for them, even when they are far from home.

Then we shared a message about God's love. We talked about how God is always there, even in the darkest times. His love is unchanging and always ready to support, uplift and give new meaning. It was a message that resonated with many hearts, because it is easy to lose faith and hope in war, but we came to remind them that true hope never disappears.

After the official part of the event was over, we stayed for a long time to talk. Each of us found our interlocutor among the military, shared our thoughts, listened to stories full of heroism, pain and hope. This communication has become an important part of our mission, because sometimes a simple conversation can give more than any words.

We remember this day as one of the most valuable moments of our ministry. We saw how music, prayer, and simple human warmth can make a great contribution to the lives of those on the front line. The military left with renewed strength, and we left with the realization that we were doing an important job.
